Proposed By-Law + Standing Rules Amendments
Over the last several months, a committee has been going through our By-Laws and Standing Rules, and have suggested the following amendments. Current By-Laws and Standing Rules can be found below. These amendments will be voted on during our election meeting on April 22nd. The current meeting time is 9:30am at a residence in Bartonville (exact address was emailed to current membership). If you have any questions or concerns about the proposed amendments, please reach out to Liz Martin, president@hilltoppta.net.
Have you ever been lost in a PTA meeting? Wondered who can vote, how should voting work, or who can bring motions to the group?
Parliamentary Procedures are the guardrails used during PTA meetings to keep business on track, ensure decisions are made, protects the rights of all voting members, and ensures everyone has a voice at the table.
These procedures also allow us to maintain healthy debate and focus on issues, not individuals.
A basic guide to assist our general members in making the most common types of motions. We will have this guide, as well as the procedures above, at tables during our general meetings to assist our members.

PARLIAMENTARIAN
Hi everyone! This is our first year at HT and we are thrilled to join this community. My husband, Blake, and I both grew up in the Dallas area and have two kids: Jack (4th grade) and Claire (1st grade). When we aren't watching our kiddos play sports, we love hosting friends and cheering on our favorite local sports teams (Go Stars/Cowboys/Rangers!) We can't wait to make new friends and share in such a special school.
