Parliamentary Procedures
Have you ever been lost in a PTA meeting? Wondered who can vote, how should voting work, or who can bring motions to the group?
Parliamentary Procedures are the guardrails used during PTA meetings to keep business on track, ensure decisions are made, protects the rights of all voting members, and ensures everyone has a voice at the table.
These procedures also allow us to maintain healthy debate and focus on issues, not individuals.Â
Parliamentary Motions Guide
A basic guide to assist our general members in making the most common types of motions. We will have this guide, as well as the procedures above, at tables during our general meetings to assist our members.
TYLER AVARY
PARLIAMENTARIAN
Hey Hilltop Fam! We moved to Argyle in the summer of 2019 and my hubby, Blake, and I both grew up in Texas (Grapevine & Brownfield). We have 3 kiddos: Easton (9th grade, Argyle HS), Brynlee (7th grade, Argyle MS), and Kellen (5th grade, Hilltop). When we aren't driving our kids to XC, cheer, football, baseball, basketball, all the things, we love to travel and go to the lake! Hilltop is such a special school and I'm excited to serve on PTA!
